Greetings fellow StarCraft II players! The past couple weeks have been amazing for the StarCraft II community. At the Dreamhack Open we saw the Swedish "Spoon Terran," Thorzain, triumph over GSL champion Polt in front of a hometown crowd in an amazing series. That same weekend, the Major League Gaming Spring Arena finals went to best of 7 games to see DongRaeGu victorious against MarineKing, avenging a loss in the Winter Championship. Looking ahead, Team Liquid StarLeague 4 was just announced here and is already getting a lot of excitement from the community. And finally, we have exciting news coming out of Korea as KeSPA and OnGameNet commit to all-new StarCraft II leagues, joining GomTV's GSL and GSTL to create an all-new StarCraft II eSports landscape. Add all of that to the 2012 Blizzard World Championship Series, and the StarCraft II community is already off to an epic 2012 in what could be the most exciting eSports year yet.

In the midst of all this great community news, we want to announce some of the exciting things we’re working on this year for StarCraft II. Here's a list of some of the features we are planning to release at or around the launch of Heart of the Swarm:

Multiplayer resume from replay
Global Play
Multilanguage support
Clan/group system
Unranked matchmaking
Multiplayer replay viewing

Let's go into more detail on each of these, starting with multiplayer resume functionality. We know how important eSports is for the StarCraft II community, and it’s important to us too. For some time now we have been discussing ways to improve StarCraft II to ensure that tournaments both large and small run as smoothly as possible. While we are discussing many different improvements, we've heard your feedback and are creating a way that games can be continued if they are ended prematurely during an eSports event. We have been investigating solutions to this issue for some time, but we expect to offer the ability to resume play from a replay at or around the launch of Heart of the Swarm.
Some of you may have read details about Diablo III Global Play, which will allow Diablo III players to create characters in different regions from their home region so they can play with friends in other parts of the world. We know this is something StarCraft II players have been asking for, and we’re working hard to make it available along with multilanguage support, at or around the release of Heart of the Swarm. We’ll have information as we get closer to Heart of the Swarm’s release.

We continue to read your passionate requests for clan support. We can confirm that we are building a clan/group system that will be released with Heart of the Swarm. We also intend to have our first version of unranked play so you will have the ability to match-make against like-skilled players without having to affect your ladder ranking while you practice off-race or experiment with a new build order.

We'll also be offering a beta sneak peek of Heart of the Swarm to attendees of the MLG Spring Championship on June 8–10 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Additionally, we will be releasing news in the next few weeks about how your participation in the upcoming Arcade (1.5) beta can win you chances to get into the upcoming Heart of the Swarm multiplayer beta test.

It’s shaping up to be an amazing year for StarCraft II. Can you believe that Flash will soon be competing in StarCraft II? Before we sign off, we wanted to call attention to a newly created StarCraft II magazine, GLHF magazine, created by a passionate group of StarCraft players. As many of you can imagine, implementation of clan support will be a huge help in organizing the activities of Clan RH and will hopefully provide us with additional name recognition. Furthermore, now that multi-player replay viewing is available, mentors and their mentee's will have an easier time reaching their goals (and ultimately those of the clan). Being able to rejoin a multi-player match-up after a disconnect or drop using the "resume from replay" feature should already be implemented as it would save sooo much hassle.....but at least their finally doing it.

There are a ton of other implications these changes will have and I would just like everyone who is interested to Discuss!

Functioning exactly like the current D3 committee, members of the Starcraft 2 committee will be given moderator powers and are expected to work diligently on the tasks that are assigned. These tasks include (but are not limited to): Making/bumping recruitment posts on various forums, administrating events, running our stream, and overall making the Starcraft side of RH a fun place to be. Activity on teamspeak is a MUST (ts.rhgaming.com) and meetings will occur weekly.

We're excited to continue expansion into the neighboring functional areas of competitive and cooperative online gaming. With the recent success of our Diablo 3 division we are looking at trying our hand with doing the same sort thing for Guild Wars 2.

As many of you know Areanet has finally anounced that the first Pre-Purchase beta will be at the end of the month, April 27-29. This will be the first non-NDA beta for Guild Wars 2 and will be open for all those who have Pre-Purchased the game. I hope that all of you can make it, and lets really get this first beta streaming. I have not herd of another guild announcing that they are going to be streaming so lets try to be No.1 right off the get go.

A lot of you may have set plans and all but Live Two Let Die will be announcing what server that the clan will be joining right when it opens and I hope you will all join that one. He will try to pick an empty server so that all of us can get in on the same server. Lets start some World vs World PvP going against other people as a guild!

We're excited to bring you an update regarding Blizzard's new eSports competition: the StarCraft II World Championship Series. The series consists of prize tournaments in nearly every part of the world that will bring players from all over the globe together to compete like never before.

It all starts with the National Qualifiers, where players (maybe even you!) will battle it out for a chance to prove their mettle and qualify for the National Finals. The top players from each country will then compete in their regional Finals. From there, winners will earn the right to fight in the StarCraft II World Championship Series, where they’ll strive to win amazing prizes and the title of World Champion. We'll have more details to share about this tournament in the very near future.

I would like to inform you that RH is going to be actively looking to create a SC2 committee sooner than expected! There are going to be some big announcements with our SC2 community and team in the near future and we would like to get a committee set up to assist in all of the planning and task execution that will follow.

The SC2 committee will mirror that of the D3 committee in principal and function (refer to the D3 Committee post to read further details), but it will obviously have a differing agenda. We will be looking for highly motivated, active, and determined individuals to bring on board.

We are currently in the scouting phase and would like for all interested individuals to inquire. Those who stand out and do a great job have a chance to become even further involved with RH management!

As many of you have probably noticed, a few of members have been asked to join the new Diablo 3 Committee. This post is going to explain exactly what the committee is, what it will be responsible for, and how it will operate in the future. Everyone of you have the opportunity to be apart of this committee and I will explain how to go about it.

A side note for you SC2 folks that want to get involved in a committee: we will be creating a SC2 Committee upon the release of the Heart of the Swarm beta. The sheer demand for the committee does not exist now, but it will when we get ready to go into the beta with lots of plans. So, as always, feel free to help out with anything and get involved on any level. We reward those who take persistent initiative!

What Is the Diablo 3 Committee?

Initially, the Diablo 3 Committee was thought of simply to bring in some of our most active and contributing members to work towards planning all the events for our D3 launch day extravaganza. The planning and execution of this day is still their main focus at the moment, but we have expanded the idea of our committee a bit more. The individuals in the committee at any given time will represent members with a strong work ethic and commitment to RH. They will work together as a team to accomplish goals and keep things flowing smoothly.

What is the Diablo 3 Committee Responsible For?

As aforementioned, the main focus of our committee at the moment will be to plan a fun and exciting RH D3 launch day party. This will include brainstorming events, executing plans, and organizing all the resources necessary to make it happen. Aside from their current main task, they will assist in moderating the community to make sure everything stays in check and keeps on track. This will include both limited teamspeak and website moderation. Aside from that, they will be involved in many different projects to keep RH fun and exciting for all. Our committee members represent the interest of the community and are here to serve you. If you need assistance, feel free to give them a shout!

How will the Diablo 3 Committee Operate in the Future?

After launch day, the committee will continue to operate like a collaborative task force in getting things planned and accomplished for Diablo 3. This will include putting in the work necessary to make events and initiatives take shape and unfold. They will also continue to act as RH representatives and moderators. They will not be given the same authority as the leadership of the community, but will be given the appropriate permissions to keep our home a great place for all!

Can I get Involved and can the Current Committee Roster Change?

The simple answer is yes and yes. Anyone who steps up to the plate, inquires, and has shown a strong level of motivation, activity, and determination can be accepted into the committee at any given time. If you feel you have a skill set that will help, we encourage you to not be shy and let us know! There is no defined size limitation, but it obviously must be within reason to function properly.

Additionally, every committee members' continued involvement in the program will be contingent on two things: performance and behavior. If someone is unable to continue contributing, is not contributing enough, goes MIA, or demonstrates bad behavior...we will remove that individual and bring in another to fulfill our need. If a member has to take a league of absence, but has been doing a great job and wishes to return...no problem, we will happily work with those who have a strong work ethic.

On the flipside, those who stand out in the committee and do an exemplary job will have further opportunity with the hierarchy of RH leadership. Think of the committee as a place to showcase your talent. If you aspire to manage one of the fastest growing team/community based organizations out there, the committee is the right place to start! We highly anticipate a large influx of members in the near future and will absolutely need your help! :thumbup:
