Did anybody see the trailer that Blizzard released? All I got to say that I will be pretty excited to play Zerg in the expansion even though my main race is Terran. The idea of exploding banelings can be split into two, which equals to less banelings that will lead to more firepower and tactics.

Lets be real here, Starcraft has and never will be famous for its campaign so the only questions are going to be about adding new units without screwing up the whole balance they have been working towards for the past year.

Can't wait can't wait can't wait...

I want more early game options for Zerg in ZvP and ZvT....

I'm sure there's a fairly large fanbase that solely enjoys the SC story. And an even larger fan base that enoys both competetive play and the story. In terms of the expansion being all about balance... I'd have to say I'm equally eager to see new units/abilities/upgrades as much as I am to see what will happen in the story.

You'd think they'd get Kerrigan and then just have her rally the Zerg to help fight against that hybrid force or whataver, but why would Raynor and Nova be fighting to get to her again as we see in the trailer for HoTS? I'm super curious...

I've always been a multiplayer focused person, but I was honestly really impressed with the WoL campaign and HotS looks like it'll be just as good. In SC1 and SC:BW, the campaigns were something I basically played because my internet was out or something similar. In WoL, I actually enjoyed playing through the campaign (even if I did occasionally want to punch babies doing some of those final missions on brutal).

Although the game is pretty balanced right now, I'm expecting the expansions to add a lot to the game. For anyone that remembers vanilla SC, it was amazing how much depth Brood War added with just a handful of extra units. A lot of people seem to forget (or it was before their time) what SC was like before BW. The strategy was much simpler because each race only had a couple of legitimate strategies, the balance was much worse than SC2 has ever been, and there were tons of little mechanics that could be horribly abused (like Reaver popping). All in all, SC2 released at a far better state than SC1 did and I'm wholeheartedly expecting HotS (and LotV) to have a as profound an impact on the game as BW had on SC.

I enjoyed the wol campaign a lot, I can really appreciate the work they put into it and the storyline even though the main focus is still multiplayer overall. I don't think people should really complain about the next expansion coming out because of balance, who cares it's going to be a long time until the game is 100% balanced if it ever is because there is another expansion coming out after. Just enjoy the campaign if you're into that and the new units and abilities you get.

I am thinking they will add units that were in the Wings of Liberty Campaign to the multiplayer aspect of the game. (Diamond Backs?) (The return of the Goliath?) I am guessing the spec ops drop ship in the campaign will play part with ghosts sniping from the air. Which in turn could be the new form of harassment from the Terran. I am thinking they will reintroduce the Lurker for Zerg because Kerrigan wants to evolve the Zerg into an unstoppable race. Also maybe a new type of Zergling that has the attack power of marines spewing acids from the distance.

Also the Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty campaign is by far the best I have seen. I hope Heart of the Swarm will be even bigger and better. Blizzard works hard on both aspects of a game to give you best bang for you buck. Great Singleplayer and Awesome Multiplayer.

Kerrigan is good now, also they said the HotS campaign will only be 20 missions. It still looks awesome though, makes me think of wc3 with the hero unit. If you read on TL they have a few of the new zerg units listed, they're basically upgraded versions of current units (zerglings and banelings)

It'll be really interesting to see what they add to multiplayer. Terran seems like the most well rounded race right now (maybe since it was the first to be developed), but I could see the Diamondback being used as a Marauder type unit for a mech-based Terran army. Toss is also pretty well rounded, but I could definitely see them adding a solid surface-to-air unit. Right now Stalkers are the only thing in that role and their DPS is mediocre, especially late game since they don't scale well. Zerg seems like they are the most in need of the expansion (again, maybe because they were the last to be developed). It's not so much that Zerg seems lacking in specific roles, just that there's not many options there. They need a few more units just to help have more diversity. Zerg right now seem like they're limited to Roach/Hydra or Muta/Ling/Bling. At least until Hive tech. They really just need more options.

I just play the campaign for fun. If it's good, that's a bonus to me. My main interest is in multiplayer and the new units that they will add. I'm interested to see what new dynamics/roles they can add to the game with new units and how they might change each race. I'm pretty excited for anything new that they have to add to this already amazing game.

I think the new units for Zerg will be mutating existing units to form other ferocious creatures. For example, Zergling could be morphed to 2 zerglings or into a raptor. Baneling would be morphed into 2 small units to split the damage etc. I am thinking they are going to give an option to morph mutalisks into a heavy air unit but decreased speed kind of like the battlecruiser or carrier. Also Leviathan would be the heavy air for the Zerg now. it will play like the Protoss Carrier. If you played the campaign it will shoot out broodlings or I thought it was mutas. Due to the fact that Kerrigan uses the Leviathan to get across plants such as retaking Char from a rebel queen. What do you guys think the existing units will morph to in Heart of the Swarm?

If you were allowed to make a leviathan it would be like the mothership where you could only make 1. Also what you're talking about with mutating zerg units is only for the campaign, blizzard won't put that in multiplayer.

Leviathan would probably move really fucking slow so they could just counter it most likely and I'm sure it would require hive tech lol.
