the reason why dh is on my list is because i think you have to outrange the inferno creeps because they will just crush you into peaces..

Thats the exact reason Barb is slightly unappealing to me, beating inferno is going to be much tougher, and will probably take a good bit more time grinding up gear just to compete with inferno trash.

Both the Monk and Barb get 30% decreased damage taken due to their melee nature. It should help some.

I'm not sure I completely agree with this, if anything I'm thinking that the gear grind will be so you can drop the shield and other defensive measures in Inferno. What I'm trying to say is that I think Inferno WILL be possible straight out of Hell for all the classes, but that certain measures are going to be unavoidable (ie: shields and defensive cool downs) for the melee classes until you have the gear to back up a dual wielding/2hander build. Maybe I'm just being optimistic but I don't think Blizzard did their job if the ranged classes completely outstrip the melee classes once you hit Inferno.

Edit: Oh and I'll definitely be rolling a barb as my first or second class, it's a toss up between the BAness of the barb and the BAness of the wizard.

I am considering rolling a Barb as first char also. For what I've tasted in the beta, I love the tankiness and jumping all around the place, plus, cleave+exploding enemies = win

Besides, have you seen the video the recently released about the Barb? who doesn't want to stomp faces that way..

I did like the Barb on D2, but as someone says up there, having to get close to the mobs to hit them tends to be highly dangerous on Inferno, but they seem to have more tanky skills this time around, so we will have to wait and see..

Defo going for barb as first and main character class...although the problem with D3 is that all the classes are crazy fun so I might not stay as true to my barb as I initially intended to ^^

Most of my friends are either going barb, or wizard. So I'm going DH most likely.
